The best Rick Riordan book set depends on which series you want to read or give as a gift. The Percy Jackson set is a straightforward choice for readers seeking that series, while The Heroes of Olympus and The Trials of Apollo sets suit readers looking for other complete five-book collections. The Kane Chronicles set is the option for readers interested in its Egyptian-mythology titles. All five listings are paperback sets.

Percy Jackson 7-Book Box Set
Best for: Readers who want a seven-book paperback set identified as a complete middle-grade fantasy adventure series. The listing makes the book count and series name clear, which helps shoppers looking for a larger collection rather than a single title.
Why it was selected: Among these options, this is the only set explicitly described as a seven-book Percy Jackson box set. It is a natural starting point for shoppers whose search is specifically about Percy Jackson books.
Consider: The product name does not identify the individual books included. Check the listing details if you need to confirm the exact titles or edition before buying.
Heroes Of Olympus Complete Collection
Best for: Readers seeking a five-book paperback collection of The Heroes of Olympus. The listing names The Lost Hero, The Son of Neptune, The Mark of Athena, and The Blood of Olympus, helping buyers identify several included titles.
Why it was selected: It is presented as a complete collection and specifies a five-book count. That makes it useful for readers comparing a full series set with a box set centered on another Rick Riordan series.
Consider: The product name lists four titles despite describing a five-book set. Confirm the complete contents in the listing before ordering, especially if you are matching books to an existing collection.
Trials Of Apollo Five-Book Set
Best for: Readers who specifically want The Trials of Apollo in a single paperback boxed set. The listing identifies it as a five-book set, so it is a focused option for buyers who already know which series they want.
Why it was selected: This listing provides a clear series name, book count, and format. Those details make it easy to distinguish from the Percy Jackson, Heroes of Olympus, and Kane Chronicles collections.
Consider: The supplied product information does not name the individual books. Check the listing to verify the contents and edition if you need a particular volume or matching set.
Kane Chronicles Complete Five-Book Set
Best for: Readers interested in The Kane Chronicles and the additional titles named in this set listing. The product name mentions The Red Pyramid, The Throne of Fire, The Serpent’s Shadow, Demigods and Magicians, and a Magician’s Manual.
Why it was selected: This is the only listed collection centered on The Kane Chronicles, so it gives shoppers a distinct series option beyond the Percy Jackson and Greek-mythology-related sets.
Consider: The listing calls this a five-book set while grouping several titles and a manual in its name. Review the product details to confirm exactly what is included and how the listing counts the books.
Heroes Of Olympus 10th Anniversary Set
Best for: Readers comparing a specifically identified 10th Anniversary Edition of The Heroes of Olympus paperback boxed set. The anniversary label makes this listing distinct from the other Heroes of Olympus collection in this guide.
Why it was selected: It offers a second format choice for readers seeking the same named series collection, particularly those who care about the edition designation when selecting a gift or building a shelf collection.
Consider: The supplied information does not specify the box set’s individual contents or design details. Compare the listing information with the other Heroes of Olympus set rather than assuming their editions are identical.
Buying Guide: How To Choose A Rick Riordan Book Set
Which series should you choose?
Start with the series name, not just the author. These listings cover Percy Jackson, The Heroes of Olympus, The Trials of Apollo, and The Kane Chronicles. Choose the set that matches the reader’s intended series. If the reader is new to the books, confirm the preferred reading order using a reliable series list before purchasing; the product names alone do not establish where each set fits in a broader reading sequence.
Does the book count match the contents?
Compare the stated count with the titles named in the listing. A box set may be described as complete while naming only some of its contents in the product title. This is especially worth checking for the Heroes of Olympus and Kane Chronicles listings here. Verify the individual book list when completeness matters.
Should you choose a standard or anniversary edition?
The two Heroes of Olympus listings differ by their product descriptions: one is presented as a complete collection, and the other is identified as a 10th Anniversary Edition. If the edition label matters, check the listing’s images and description. Do not assume that an anniversary label guarantees different contents or features unless the seller specifies them.
What should you check before ordering?
- Confirm the series and exact titles included.
- Check the format; the supplied listings identify these sets as paperback.
- Review the stated book count and whether accessories or manuals are included.
- For gifts or collections, compare edition names and product images.
