Falling Slowly (From The Motion Picture Once): Piano/Vocal/Chords
Best for intermediate players who want a faithful piano-vocal arrangement. The Alfred Music edition presents a complete original sheet layout including melody, lyrics, and chords. This edition is suited for performers who want to accompany themselves while singing. A notable limitation is that it focuses on the original arrangement; players seeking simplified or alternate keys may need transposition.
Buffy The Vampire Slayer: Once More, With Feeling: The Script Book
Best for fans who want to study the episode in script form or stage-ready dialogue. The Simon Spotlight edition provides the full script, capturing cues, timing, and character lines. This is ideal for performers preparing the show or directors aiming to stage the material. Note that it is not a musical score; users should rely on separate vocal/piano formatting if they need sheet music excerpts.
Once: Music From the Motion Picture – Easy Piano Songbook
Best for beginners to early intermediates seeking 13 film songs in an easy piano format. The Hal Leonard book includes easy piano arrangements and 64 pages of content, making it a practical starting point for learners who want familiar melodies from the film. A potential constraint is that simplified arrangements may omit some orchestral details found in the original scores.
Once: Music From The Motion Picture
Best for players seeking a comprehensive piano-vocal-guitar songbook. This Hal Leonard edition provides 13 songs from the movie with standard notation and guitar chord frames, allowing cross-instrument use. The arrangement supports accompanying singing and guitar play, but some readers may want higher-level arrangements if performing with a full ensemble.
Always Remember Us This Way: From A Star Is Born
Best for piano-vocal-guitar players who want a polished original sheet edition. The Alfred Music publication is designed for performance-ready reading with lyrics and chords. It suits singers who accompany themselves or accompany other musicians in intimate settings. A limitation is that some advanced pianists may seek more complex textures than the arrangement provides.
You Raise Me Up: Piano/Vocal/Chords, Sheet
Best for vocalists and pianists who want to perform Josh Groban’s popular arrangement. The Alfred Music edition provides piano, vocal, and chord notation with lyrics, making it suitable for solo performances or small ensembles. Choose this if you favor a well-known arrangement with accessible key signatures. A possible limitation is that some players may want more complex accompaniment options beyond the standard version.
Buying Guide
Key considerations when choosing sheet music from this collection include arrangement type, skill level, and performance setting. Consider these questions:
- What is your primary use: learning, performing solo, or accompanying others?
- Is a vocal line essential, or do you prefer instrumental-only sheets?
- Do you need simplified arrangements for beginners or authentic original scores for advanced players?
- Do you require lyrics, guitar chords, or both for versatility in performance?
- Are you preparing for a specific show or film track, or exploring a broader soundtrack collection?
Section-by-section recommendations help you balance difficulty and authenticity. For performance-ready reading, prefer a piano/vocal/chords edition with lyrics. For study or script analysis, a complete script book provides rich dialogue and cues. If you are new to the material, start with easy piano songbooks to build familiarity before tackling full orchestra textures.
