This DVD is best for buyers specifically looking for the Jack and the Beanstalk TV special associated with Gene Kelly. Why it was selected: It is a distinct TV-special listing with a named actor-director, making it easy to distinguish from the other adaptations here. Limitation: The available product information does not specify runtime, release details, or additional bonus content, so check the listing for those specifics before ordering.

Buying Guide: How To Choose A Jack And The Beanstalk DVD
Which version should you choose?
Start with the named performers and format description. The Gene Kelly item is identified as a TV special, while the Costello listings name Lou Costello and director Jean Yarbrough. The ensemble-cast DVD lists Chevy Chase, Christopher Lloyd, James Earl Jones, Katey Sagal, and Wallace Shawn. The “The Real Story” title is another distinct option. These identifiers are more reliable for choosing among similarly named products than the title alone.
How should you compare the two Costello listings?
Both product pages identify Lou Costello and Jean Yarbrough, but the supplied information does not establish whether they contain different cuts, packaging, or bonus features. Compare the listing images, edition descriptions, and seller-provided item details. Do not assume that separate product pages automatically mean different movie content.
What details should you check before ordering?
- Confirm that the product format is DVD, particularly if you are shopping for a specific disc format.
- Match the listed performers and title wording to the adaptation you want.
- Review the product page for runtime, edition, language, and bonus-content information if those details affect your choice; they are not provided in the supplied summaries.
- Check the rating label where one is listed. The Costello listings identify Unrated or NR; the other product details do not consistently provide a rating.
