The best Bible comics for kids depend on whether your child wants a broad illustrated retelling, a comic-style introduction, or a traditional Bible with illustrations. Its comic-inspired visual approach makes it a natural option for children who prefer pictures alongside narrative.

Consider: The provided product details do not list its age range, story selection, or content approach. Review the listing if those details are important for your child.
The Action Bible: Heroes and Villains
This hardcover is a themed pick within The Action Bible series. Its title centers on heroes and villains, while Sergio Cariello is credited as illustrator. That focus can help a child who is especially interested in characters, choices, and conflict find an engaging entry point into Bible stories.
Best for: Readers who enjoy character-led themes and already like illustrated Bible storytelling. Choose it when the theme is a better fit than a broad overview.

The Awesome Book of Bible Comics
Written by Sandy Silverthorne and illustrated by Daniel Hawkins, this paperback is another explicitly comic-focused choice. It gives shoppers an alternative to The Lion Kids Bible Comic and The Action Bible series without relying on a traditional Bible format.
Best for: Kids who want Bible content presented as comics and families comparing titles from different creators. It was selected because its title directly matches the comic-book format in the search.

The Discovery Bible, NLT Kid’s Bible
This hardcover is listed as an NLT kids’ Bible for ages 8–12, with Dave Strehler as author and Johann Strauss as illustrator. It is not identified as a comic, so it is best treated as a traditional Bible alternative for families who want a children’s Bible alongside or instead of comic retellings.
Best for: Readers ages 8–12 whose family wants a kids’ Bible rather than a book specifically marketed as comics. The stated age range makes it the clearest age-specific option in this selection.
Consider: Choose another title if comic panels are a must-have; the product name describes a kids’ Bible, not a Bible comic.
Buying Guide: How To Choose A Bible Comic For Kids
Should you choose a comic retelling or a children’s Bible?
Start with the format your child is likely to read. A comic or illustrated retelling presents Bible stories through visual storytelling, while a children’s Bible is a different kind of book. The Discovery Bible is the traditional Bible option in this list; the other four titles are positioned as comic or illustrated story choices by their names and descriptions.
Which format works best for your child?
Consider whether a hardcover or paperback suits how the book will be used. The Action Bible titles and The Discovery Bible are hardcovers; The Lion Kids Bible Comic and The Awesome Book of Bible Comics are paperbacks. Format alone does not indicate reading difficulty, so check a sample or product listing when possible.
Does the book fit the child’s age and reading level?
Only The Discovery Bible listing gives a specific age range: 8–12. The supplied details do not give age guidance for the comic titles. For younger readers, review sample pages and consider whether an adult will read with them. For independent readers, check the text density and vocabulary.
Do you want broad coverage or a particular theme?
Choose The Action Bible: God’s Redemptive Story for a broad story-focused selection. Consider Heroes and Villains if its character theme appeals to the child. The Lion Kids Bible Comic and The Awesome Book of Bible Comics are alternatives when the comic format itself is the priority. Check the story contents before choosing if you have specific coverage in mind.
