The best choice depends on whether you want to start the story, continue the Beartown series, or collect several Backman books at once. Choose the Beartown audiobook for a narrated first read, the hardcover listing for a print edition, Us Against You for the next story, or The Winners for the later series installment. The four-book collection adds related titles in paperback.

Beartown Audible Audiobook
This Audible audiobook is a strong starting point for listeners who want Fredrik Backman’s Beartown story in audio. The listing identifies Marin Ireland as narrator and Simon & Schuster Audio as publisher. Beartown introduces the community and characters that continue into the other books in the series, so beginning here helps establish the story before moving on to its sequels.
- Best for: Readers who prefer listening to a novel.
- Why it was selected: It is the first Beartown story in an audio format, with the narrator and audio publisher identified in the listing.
- Consider: Choose another listing if you specifically want a physical book; this product is identified as an Audible audiobook.
Beartown Collection Four-Book Set
This paperback set is the broadest option for readers who want multiple Fredrik Backman titles in one purchase. Its listed books are The Winner, Us Against You, Beartown, and Anxious People. The set combines the three Beartown-related novels with another Backman title, making it a better fit for readers interested in a small collection than for someone seeking only the first book.
- Best for: Paperback readers who want several Backman books together.
- Why it was selected: It includes Beartown and the two follow-up titles, along with Anxious People.
- Consider: The collection includes a book outside the Beartown series. Check the included titles if you only want the trilogy.
Bear Town Hardcover
This listing is identified as a hardcover by Fredrik Backman. It is the print-format alternative among the individual first-book selections here, so it suits readers who want a bound physical copy rather than audio. The product title appears as Bear Town, while other listings use Beartown; compare the listing details before ordering if matching a particular edition or collection matters to you.
- Best for: Readers who want a hardcover copy of the first Beartown novel.
- Why it was selected: It offers the story in a physical format and is explicitly listed as a hardcover.
- Consider: The supplied product information does not specify edition details beyond format and author.
The Winners Audible Audiobook
The Winners is a later Beartown-series choice for listeners who have already read or heard the earlier books. This Audible audiobook listing names Marin Ireland as narrator and Simon & Schuster Audio as publisher. Reading the series in order is the clearest way to follow its continuing community and characters, so this is not the best entry point for someone new to Beartown.
- Best for: Listeners continuing the series in audio.
- Why it was selected: It provides a later installment in the same series as Beartown and Us Against You.
- Consider: Start with Beartown if you have not read the series and want to follow the story from its beginning.
Us Against You Audible Audiobook
Us Against You is the next Beartown novel to consider after the first book. This listing is an Audible audiobook, with Marin Ireland identified as narrator and Simon & Schuster Audio as publisher. It suits listeners who want to continue the series without switching from audio to print. For a first-time reader, begin with Beartown so the continuing story has context.
- Best for: Listeners who have finished Beartown and want the next installment.
- Why it was selected: It is a series continuation offered in the same general audio format as the other audiobook selections.
- Consider: It is not the series starting point, and this listing is audio rather than print.
Buying Guide: Which Beartown Book Should You Choose?
Should you read the books in order?
For the clearest story progression, start with Beartown, continue with Us Against You, and then read The Winners. The collection includes all three of those titles, although its listed order is not a reading-order recommendation. Check the title list when choosing a set.
Which format fits your reading habits?
Choose an Audible audiobook if you prefer listening and want a narrator-led version. Select the hardcover listing if you want a physical copy of the first novel. The collection is paperback and includes four books, so it is suited to readers who want several titles rather than one specific format of the first book.
Is the four-book collection only the Beartown trilogy?
No. The listed set contains Beartown, Us Against You, The Winner, and Anxious People. The first three are the Beartown-series titles in the product name; Anxious People is an additional Fredrik Backman book.
What should you check before ordering?
Confirm the format, title, and included books in the listing. The individual products include both audio and print options, and the hardcover title is written as “Bear Town” in its supplied product name. If you need a specific edition, verify its details on the product page.
